Kidz 4 A Cure was formed as an AIDS walk team in 2002 in honor of my adopted daughter Kimberly. Kim lost her battle with HIV/AIDS in 2000 at the age of 8. The light of my world went out on that awful day.
When I lost Kimberly, I thought I could not go on loving children with the risk of losing them. At that time a beautiful baby girl was placed in my arms who needed me to be so much stronger than I felt I could be at that time. God showed me through her eyes how much good I could do by using all I had learned to help other children who were struggling with physical and/or economic challenges.
Walking in the AIDS Walk helped me to feel like something good could come from such heartache and pain. When another of my daughters, Ceyra, died in 2010 we added her picture to the back of our team shirts and continued to walk in honor of those we love, and those we’ve lost.
Kidz 4 A Cure incorporated and received nonprofit status in 2015. Our organization works to benefit children in need and those infected or affected with HIV/AIDS. Our nonprofit status enables us to receive tax deductible donations via cash, check or credit card (PayPal).
